Choices

Yesterday I sat in a friends store and thought about the presence of God. I looked around and what caught my eye was the potato chip display. The potato chips display had all kinds of chips, thin ones, round ones, hot ones, mild ones and even puffy cheesy chips! There were hot and spicy and even plain, but the one that caught my eye was the chip that you are never able to eat just one. This is like your relationship with God, we go through life and taste the blessings of god but we allow ourselves to get wrapped up in all the flavors of the world’s outlook on religion. , Colossians, chapter 3 verses 1 and 2, in the Message reads, “So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective. “

The world around us has a desire to always look at the various flavors of religion and the options available for their lives. They become fixed on the flavor and miss the reality of the reason for following God. We miss the act of worship and the heart of the Father because of All the outside influence. If as a follower of Jesus we are going to be all he wants us to be than we must be adsorbed with what he puts before us, His grace, His blessing, and His love. There are many that wear the name of Christ but still have not accepted the calling of Christ. When do we put down the options and run to the source, Jesus? So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides.

Where do our desires lay? What are our motivations? We as followers of Christ should be just that, a Follower of JESUS CHRIST and not a pawn in the game that the devil is trying to play in the church! God loves you and wants to bless you but the key is that you become willing to allow the blessing to flow in your life.

Adventure is a concept of Grace

This is a new day for me with a new page in my life, and I am ready! If life ever gives you a lemon grace allows you to make lemon aide without pits! I am aware that this may sound a little off the chart but that is my day today, off the chart. I am stepping into a new area of serving God and to be honest I am somewhat scared. It seems to me that when we enter a new race or take on a new task there is always a level of fear involved. Why? Fear occurs because the unknown is bigger than our faith.

Today is a day that God has created for each of us to enjoy and to protect us there is grace. Grace is the protective hand of God the Father that we do not deserve. If we are to serve him we must be devoted to him and be more than a pawn in a game of life. I am scared at the way the church has developed their own plan of service. They have taken God out of the picture and made their desire the most important part of ministry.

Today is the day that we stop playing mind games and begin heartfelt sold out commitment to God. Today is the day we get out of the way of the giver of life and fall on our faces crying out for his vision for our lives. TODAY!

Tuesday is a great day!

How does your life reflect your relationship with God the father? How is it that on certain days of the week there are challenges that occur that affect your entire outlook on life? I have noticed that on most days it is always that day you have everything planned, your day is full and there is no room for change. It is usually Tuesday or Thursday for me. I am always ready for a challenge on the two T’S of the week. The day before “Hump” day and the day before my day How off, always!

Why is this so? Simple, we are creatures of habit! Each week is different to an extent but still has some variables. In the lives of most you bet up, go to work, come home, eat dinner, go to bed so you can get up and do the same all over. Life has become a pattern in many of our personal lives. Why? Most people are uncomfortable with change. There is a fear that comes with adjustment in our personal lives and we become confused at the outcome. Our final results in life are the result of how we deal with change.

When we were born life was simple, eat, sleep, and go to the potty! What a life! Than as we grew older we began to change, life became complicated, confusion entered our perfect world, and we were three! Life is funny that way, from the smallest child to the oldest adult there is always and will always be CHANGE! So how are you in the relationship realm of God and Man (or woman)? Have you experienced that change from a person with sin in your life or the person that has accepted Christ as your Savior? Are you still confused about the “here after” or are you sure that if you die right now you are going to heaven?

Life is about change. Change from the old life filled with sin, or change in the new life, an adopted child of the KiNG!

Where are you headed?

Why Do people Hurt?

I am confused at why people hurt because of life choices? Why is it that one mistake can mess up an entire family and the lives of 5 beautiful people? Why? Is it because the lives of people become so drenched in the world of sin that life becomes clouded and confused?  I am bummed that when this happens I am unable to fix the problem for people that really deserve help! Sometimes life just is a mess of houie that just does not make since!

I am so upset that my bud is facing this challenge in his life and I can’t fix it! I am a fixer and for one of the few times in life my hands are tied. My friend has been there for me, listen to me whine( yea I do whine at times) and let me be a shoulder to lean on when I was at my wits end! We have been friends for many years and now I am totally at the end of my rope! God I Pray That You Intercede! I am convinced that this is a teaching time for my friend and a time that will make him a better dad, boulder in his faith and more secure in his relationships! God place a protective hedge around the family and keep them safe!

I am convinced that God is in control and all will be OK as long as we put our faith in HIM!

Memories- What are they doing?

I have been sitting and wondering why the past memories are so life changing, why when we go to safe places in our past there is a comfortable feeling of bliss?

When you and I remember the past we many times just remember the good stuff. We think of college and remember the first day on campus but not the first encounter with the student loan office because our grants did not get in on time. We remember moving into the dorms, but, try to forget our first college roommate; I wonder what happen to ET? Then we have the thought of all the food, too bad the horror of the café still lingers in my mind! My point is that we all have places of a safe nature that protect us from the horror and the reality of growing into adult hood. Freedom from our parents, our own credit card, and life as a single adult! WOW!

See I remember those days and the joy that filled my heart. Not just the excitement of having a roof over my head and three meals a day, but the fact that in some small way, I belonged! I belonged to a group of people that did not care about my past they just wanted to be part of my future and belong to my present. Days hanging at the student center, walking by the river and swimming at the lake made college seem like a different place in time. Life was simple then: God was in this place

So as I sit with key board at hand I am grateful for the friendships and prayers, I am thankful for the families that took me in and made me apart of their family. I am overwhelmed at the grace that was provided and the prayers that were shared on my behalf. I am blessed by those who put up with my junk and still called me your friend. Thank you for being Jesus in my life!

I am AmAzEd

I can hardly believe that i am nearly half way through being 50 years old! The stress has been limited but the gray hair has increased. Life is getting better… I think.

How do you and I judge if life is getting better? Do we have a plan or a play book that sets the rules? Open you eyes and look, we are in a mass transit lifestyle and no one is driving the train! Well this is not always the truth, God is at the wheel and he is in charge! This should be a statement of fact in many of our lives but in some cases it is not. The world has told us that God does not exist, he is not real: the Bible tells us that he is creator of all, the GIVER of life the forgiveness of Sin! Who do you say he is?

If we go through life and miss the greatness of God, I believe that we have missed out of His blessing. Where do you sit, all alone on a bench at the intersection of life and death, or, Walking hand in hand with the Alpha and Omega!

search for…

In the past seven months I have been searching for “the”place that God has for me to serve at. To inform you that have never had to go down this path, it stinks! I am sure that the road I am traveling on leads to God it is all the crooks and crannies in the pavement that jack me up! I am so bummed by all the fake encouragement that comes from the fake support group that it makes me want to puke! The one thing that is cool, there are people that REALLY are in your corners, and for those I am GreaTfuL!!! if it were not for the true friends this ship would have sank. I am sure as i draw nearer to God, and believe me I am, my focus has changed.

In the past few days I have been hanging out in Is. 54 where God reminds us that he has extreme passion for us. Even though we get messed up and screwed up God is in our corner. He is passionately seeking us and wants us to do well, no matter how we fall. I love that thought! Even though I mess up and fall God runs to me to pick me up from the filth, and the dung and the slime of sin! If I am to be His follower I must be willing to be His, no matter the cost!

So, here is the kicker—-He loves me when No One Else Does! That is cool, he loves me when I do not deserve his love, heloves me when I stink from the smell of Sin, heloves….ME!

Cookies

How is it that all good things(that taste good) are not good for you. I just got a box of Girl scout cookies and i am so motivated to eat them. It seems that is the way with alot of things, life for examble. we get so excited about things that we miss the good stuff because we are so hooked on the junk. If we as believers would allow God to feed us and lead us life would be better.

the cookies of our life, computer, peanut butter, or oatmeal are sweet and tasty, but not always healthy. There must be a drive to stay away from them somewhat or the sugar takes over. i guess i am suffering from cookie overload.

Still Dreamin…

I am still just amazed at the power of the mind when we get all the junk out of the way. As I sit in my office with keyboard at hand I just wonder why life is so jacked up. I am blessed to have a wife that supports me and loves me, a family that is in my corner and friends that make me complete. The question is when will I find my place. Life is so messed up that many times we miss our place.

Today is my niece’s birthday, she is 22. I remember 22 years ago while a student at ClearCreeek Bible college i had the world by the tail, i was the next answer to Billy G. The world was at my feet and all was ok. Good grades, great car, no cares in the world, just me and Jesus. I don’t know what happen i got lost in the scuffle, but that’s OK.God is in control. Today I sit in search of the place that He wants me to serve, the lessons have been hard but the final results will be great.

I do not kno why we go through what we do, but I am sure that as we are seeking HIS direction are final exam will be cool. Today if you are in God’s classroom and you are having a hard time with the assignment, just remember that He is IN CONTROL…PRESS ON!

Confusion

I just read where the act of creation is confusing to some people. I am blown away at the lack of exceptance in the small minds of some”believers” that still think we came from monkeys or fish? If as a follower of Christ you are unwilling to believe in the Creation of the world by Daddy God you REALLYneed to check you salvation. there is way to mant messed up people in the world with some jacked up doctrines in their basket to doube the first to books of the Word. Come on get on your knees and talk to God, he will get you straight.

In a world that is nearing the last days we, the church, need to get right with God. we must and even more we need to allow the Holy Spirit the drivers seat in our life. There are many that try to tell God what to do instead of followin what he says. Get over it, God is THe Boss, DO WHAT HE SAYS!

The church is in a turmoil, the world is in a turmoil, heck you and I are in turmoil. New president, new recession, new super bowl champ, what does it matter as long as Christ is the CENTeR of our life and we are doing what the word tells us to do! If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray! get over yourself and do the word in your life…
